Her work has been featured by Martha Stewart Living, and she was honoured to be described by them as one of their favourite petal artists.

|20 October||Botanical Paper Cutting Workshop|
Are you looking to explore your artistic side and develop a new practical skill? Then papercutting is for you.This workshop is ideal for beginners who are interested in learning the basics of paper Cutting. Paper Cutting is a fast growing trend and a great way of creating designs to brighten up your home, create decorations for special occasions such as Christmas and Weddings, or make personal gifts for friends and family. During this three hour workshop you will learn how to use a scalpel knife to cut intricate designs from existing templates. You will learn various techniques which Silvina will talk you through step by step, and will be encouraged to experiment with colours and textures using a selection of papers to create your piece. You will create your own artwork which you can then take home with you. Your work can then be mounted into a frame and given as a present, or displayed in your own home. You will also learn how to create your own designs for future artworks. All materials will be provided and you will get to go home with one small but wonderful artwork ready to frame and hang on your wall. Classes are limited to 6 spaces so please be quick if you would like to book. Silvina is been a paper cutter for 8 years, she has been published in several books about Paper Cutting and did several paper illustration for publications. She is an illustrator and graphic designer, paper cutter and very experienced teacher, excited to pass on these skills to other makers.

Whether you’re an avid typography fan, or simply want to try your hand at something new and creative, we would love you to join one of our Brush Lettering workshops. You’ll be taught by Teri Muncey, designer, illustrator, stylist and the talent behind The Lovely Drawer. In this class of roughly 10 students:•You will be given a set of essential materials which you can take away after class, including guide sheets, Teri’s preferred brush and a pot of indian ink. You will also be provided with practise paper and thicker card stock for your final piece•Teri will introduce contemporary brush lettering and it’s applications•You’ll first work on exercises to get your familiar with brush control, practicing making shapes, and contrasting stroke thickness.•You’ll take these basic techniques into letterforms, in uppercase and lowercase, as well as numbers with plenty of help and guidance on hand•This will be followed with a run through on combining and laying out words to form beautiful phrases for your final piece.•By the end of the workshop you’ll be well on your way to developing your own brush lettering style and armed with the materials to go away an practise until you’re a complete pro!PLEASE NOTE: Tickets are non-refundable and non-changeable. |21 October||Paper Lisianthus Workshop|
Learn how to make a beautifully realistic crepe paper Lisianthus with Susie from A Petal Unfolds. In this intermediate level workshop you will get to work with a range of the finest crepe papers and be guided through some of the techniques of paper flower making. During the class you will make 1 Lisianthus flower with a bud and foliage and learn techniques that you can transfer to the making of other paper flowers.We'll start with forming the centre of the Lisianthus, then move on to techniques for the the shaping of the petals and how to add a gradation of colour to the paper. We then go through techniques to make a bud and foliage, before bringing the flower together and adding the finishing touches that make the flower more realistic. Susie will share plenty of tips and tricks along the way and also the materials that she prefers to use for this flower. You will leave the class with your own Lisinthus, an instruction booklet and the flower templates, along with a small kit of papers so that you can make more flowers straight away.Class includes light refreshments and all materials.Please ensure that you can attend on the day. |27 October||Introduction to Watercolours Workshop|
This Introduction to Watercolours Workshop is taught by illustrator Emma Block. This workshop is appropriate for both total beginners and those with some watercolour experience. The workshop will focus on developing skills and applying techniques allowing you to grow in confidence and start to develop your own style. The workshop will start with a colour mixing demonstration allowing you to become familiar with the paint and different effects that can be created. Then you'll learn how simple brush strokes can be used to create leaves, flowers and stems and how these can be ranged to create floral motifs.*You will be given a complete set of materials which you can take away after class, including guide sheets, paper, brushes and a set of Windsor and Newton watercolours. * We'll start with colour theory, colour mixing and exercises to practice making simple shapes and brush strokes.* You'll then work on a final piece, sketching and painting from life, with plenty of hands on guidance and encouragement from the tutor. By the end of the workshop you'll be well on your way to developing your own unique watercolour style.All necessary materials are provided.
