|1 June||Brush Lettering workshop |
Whether you’re an avid typography fan, or simply want to try your hand at something new and creative, we would love you to join one of our Brush Lettering workshops. You’ll be taught by Teri Muncey, designer, illustrator, stylist and the talent behind The Lovely Drawer. In this class of roughly 10 students: •You will be given a set of essential materials which you can take away after class, including guide sheets, Teri’s preferred brush and a pot of indian ink. You will also be provided with practise paper and thicker card stock for your final piece•Teri will introduce contemporary brush lettering and it’s applications•You’ll first work on exercises to get your familiar with brush control, practicing making shapes, and contrasting stroke thickness. •You’ll take these basic techniques into letterforms, in uppercase and lowercase, as well as numbers with plenty of help and guidance on hand•This will be followed with a run through on combining and laying out words to form beautiful phrases for your final piece. •By the end of the workshop you’ll be well on your way to developing your own brush lettering style and armed with the materials to go away an practise until you’re a complete pro!PLEASE NOTE: Tickets are non-refundable and non-changeable. This is an e-ticket – please bring with you the email confirmation on your phone (no hardcopy ticket will be posted). Although accidents are rare, the ink is black and may not come out of clothes so please dress accordingly!

Are you looking to explore your artistic side and develop a new practical skill? Then papercutting is for you.This workshop is ideal for beginners who are interested in learning the basics of paper Cutting. Paper Cutting is a fast growing trend and a great way of creating designs to brighten up your home, create decorations for special occasions such as Christmas and Weddings, or make personal gifts for friends and family. During this three hour workshop you will learn how to use a scalpol knife to cut intricate designs from existing templates. You will learn various techniques which Silvina will talk you through step by step, and will be encouraged to experiment with colours and textures using a selection of papers to create your piece. You will create your own artwork which you can then take home with you. Your work can then be mounted into a frame and given as a present, or displayed in your own home. You will also learn how to create your own designs for future artworks. All materials will be provided and you will get to go home with one small but wonderful artwork ready to frame and hang on your wall. Classes are limited to 8 spaces so please be quick if you would like to book.
